Subtypes of Type 1: The Moral Perfectionist
SELF-PRESERVATION 1: (WORRY)
This subtype of 1 experiences the most worry and anxiety. They are the true perfectionists, seeking to perfect the world around them. They are the most self-critical, but the least critical of others. This type represses their anger more than the other 1’s, but it will often leak out as tension in the body or the need to overly control their surroundings and themselves.. The Self Preservation 1 is the most friendly and warm of the three subtypes.
SOCIAL 1: (NON-ADAPTABILITY)
This type is less of a perfectionist, but focuses more on perfecting themselves and finding the “right way” to be or do things. Once they have figured out the right way, they want to model it for others and tend to be the leader of the group.. They have a teacher mentality and tend to be the most intellectual of the three types. They are not as good at repressing their anger and they can appear less warm and less anxious than the other subtypes of 1. They often focus on injustices and work for social causes.
ONE-TO-ONE/SEXUAL 1: (ZEAL) the countertype
This subtype feels more comfortable with their anger and may express it more than the other two subtypes. They can come off as more intense and entitled because they recognize that they have a duty to improve the world and perfect others. They are still critical of themselves, but are more critical of others.. They have a connection to a higher moral authority and are often seen as reformers more than perfectors. Their zeal is in full effect when advocating for what they see as right and fixing what needs to be fixed. This is a more impulsive type of 1.
